Jason works in association with Dunsmore Law and maintains a robust employment, labour, and human rights practice. By taking an innovative and practical approach in his practice, Jason takes pride in securing optimal and cost-effective solutions for his clients. He is a passionate advocate and develops client relationships based on trust.
For employers, Jason assists in managing the modern workplace, including:
Drafting employment contracts, handbooks, workplace policies;
Managing compliance with employment laws, including the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Ontario Human Rights Code;
Collective bargaining, grievance, and arbitration; and
Jason also works closely with employees to secure their workplace rights, including:
Reviewing and negotiating employment contracts;
Advising employees regarding harassment, discrimination, human rights, and constructive dismissal issues;
Negotiating severance packages for employment terminations; and
Jason has successfully represented employees and employers before the Ontario Superior Court, Divisional Court, Federal Court, arbitration, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, Canada Labour Code Adjudication, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and other tribunals.
Prior to graduating from law school at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, Jason received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physiology. After articling at a prominent labour and employment law firm, Jason started his own firm, Wong Employment Law.
Jason is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, Toronto Lawyer’s Association, and the Association of Workplace Investigators.
In his spare time, Jason is busy planning his next trip abroad and cheers on the Toronto Raptors.
